Highland Cow Layered Paper Art

This Highland Cow picture has been created using 6 sheets of hand cut paper. From lightest front layer back to the dark base each layer is created from a single sheet of art paper in various shades of brown to catch the gorgeous texture of a highland cows hair. The entire piece is made by simply cutting away parts of each sheet of paper and layering them on top of each other to bring the design to life.
The Highland cow is one of the most complex pieces that I have created with some of the pieces cut from it being just slithers measuring barely 1mm square. It took approximately half a day to complete each layer.
The Highland Cow comes framed in a beautiful brown wood effect frame that compliments the cows colours.
The frame measures 40 cm by 32cm and is approximately 3cm deep and is suitable for wall hanging.
The cow was designed by a talented designer Andy Rothery and cut completely by hand by me.
